Updating from LE 6.4 to 7.3 Windows XP

I'm new at this; Questions concerning updating: Must I completely uninstall and delete the 6.4 before installing the 7.3? Also can I still pull up previous music projects created by the 6.4 stored on my external drive with no problem (will they auto convert to 7.3).

7.xx will open 6.4 no problem, I made the same jump recently...Uninstall 6.4, PT7 is a complete install...should take about 90 seconds through control panel> uninstall programs.

Thanks guy.fi, I'll try it out. How did you uninstall the 6.4, I can't find an uninstall Icon? I did down load PT nuke software to try and clean out the 6.4 from my PC before installing the 7.3. Have you tried this software? I did read that you went to the control panel to uninstall.
