Are you familiar with the 'Bounce to Disk' command? If you have your song done, go to 'File' and then choose 'Bounce to Disk'. Select the 16-bit, stereo interleved .wav option. Once this is done, you can burn it to a CD.

The subject is "Compressing a Pro Tools file to a Audio file (Mp3) ." But the advice given was to bounce to a WAV file, which is NOT compressed and NOT an MP3. In order to create an MP3 in Pro Tools, you need the MP3 option (still a $20 purchase, right?). Then, choose MP3 as the bounce format. Alternatively, you can bounce to an uncompressed format like WAV or AIFF and compress in a third-party audio app. |
