I have just crossgraded from a perpetual license to a subscription. I downloaded the Protools files but cannot activate the software. What is different now?

have you updated your iLOK device? I would perhaps look there first.

as for "what is different now" is..... I believe you now rent the software instead of owning it as you did with the perpetual lic.... if you stop paying rent they take away the keys just like if you stop paying rent on your dwelling but you do get it at half the price for update and support than you will under the perp lic..

My ilok is up to date. I am trying to install on a win 10 pc but I cannot access the software. This is a bad sign. I think I would let Avid eject me from my apartment.

also make sure the firmware on your iLOK is up to date. I might be they are still registering the new version with your iLOK. whatever the issue is I'm pretty sure I have seen this before just start a ticket with Avid I'm sure this can be easily sorted.

btw, when you say access.... have you installed the software? or are you trying to start the installer and are having trouble?

maybe try and explain the process of what you have done so far.

I have installed the software on my macbook pro but cannot authorize it. I am also trying to install it on a windows pc. I have to old license on my ilok. I did not get a code to authorize it.

Do you get a prompt asking you to plug in an iLOK device or similar prompt? perhaps you may need to renew your lic

Something abre and others might want to do if they haven't already is to link your iLok account with your Avid master account. I did that before I purchased the 2019.6 permanent upgrade from PT11. During the purchase process I had my account open and picked the PT I wanted to upgrade from. When I did that the system trundled and took care of putting the license asset in my iLok account and also surrendering the old combo 10/11 license asset. And just to make sure everything was okay I synced my iLok to my account.

Don't forget that the license process for Falcon is a separate thing.

My accounts are linked. ilok account is linked to master account. I have tried everything. It is a yearly subscription paid monthly for $9.99 per month.
