SSD4 users on Mac??

Hi guys

I’m trying to narrow down some of my little teething issues with my Mac that happen every now and again. I think my biggest culprit is Slate drums. I’m wondering if users on here can share their experiences and how they have it set up. Today I had a small session hardly any plugins and the session was working fine. I opened the midi window to do some editing and PT threw up the message reduce automation or native plugins. What was strange is that the session was playing perfectly fine until I opened the midi window?? SSD4 was the only Native plugin active
The other few were TDM

The same session runs on my 2012 MacBook Pro no problem at all with the other plugins active in the session being Native also not TDM.

On my MacBook Pro my SSD4 samples are on the system drive, but on my MacPro they are on a separate SSD drive to the system drive would this make a difference??

Also are people using the AAX version or RTAS version of the SSD4 plugin.

My MacBook Pro is running OSX Maverick but my MacPro has a Lion partition and a Maverick Partition.

Thanks in advance

I use SSD4 RTAS but I am going to install the AAX tomorrow for PTHD 2018.1 I do have the occasional crash with the RTAS version of SSD4. RTAS I am using Snow Leopard PTHD 8.11 on an Accel 5 system with the expansion chassis. The other system I will install it on tomorrow is Mac Pro 5.1 HDN PCIe. I think the RTAS version is buggy.

I’m hoping SSD5 will be a lot more stable, my consensus was that the RTAS version was more stable than AAX but I’m not sure

oh damn, well thats not making my day tomorrow look good!:o

Is SSD5 out yet?

I had issues with the RTAS version where sometimes I would click a drum, like a tom or whatever to audition and then I would get a crash. Most of the time the crash would happen after auditioning serval drums in a row.

I had enough of SSD crashing. I cannot load presets I make of their own drums sounds and import into a new session. This is a known problem. I would also get crashes when demoing drums sounds inside of the plug in. I bought XLN Addictive Trigger. Works great and sounds really good too!!

Moving forward. I just installed SSD5, and I haven't ran it through it's paces.

How's it working for you if you upgraded yet ?, thanks.
