And when Avid falls behind on support or decides to abandon yet another product can the standard Apogee drivers and Mastero software work with them? e.g. any way to reflash them to standard Apogee firmware? (so at least they can be supported/work on a Mac)

My concern begins with getting Quartet to work at all under Windows. Seems like such a perfect interface for project studios. Too good to be true.
