Pro Tools LE8, Mbox 2 restarting computer

Hi guys,

I have recently gone back to using Pro Tools LE8.

I am using Windows 7 32bit and an Mbox 2.

I can install PT successfully however, when I go to launch PT it restarts my computer immediately.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did a search on this and couldn't see anything for LE8.

I can provide any info required.

Thanks

Rogebox

Which version of 8? Win7 was only ever approved for 8.0.4 and 8.0.5. Download 8.0.4 from here, install it and run it to enter your authorization code. Once authorized, you can then apply the 8.0.5 updater.

Hi Jimmy,

Cheers for the reply.

I downloaded 8.0.4 and upgraded to 8.0.5.

I probably should have mentioned that.

Tried this twice last night and still no dice.

What happens is you click the icon, it spools for 2/3 seconds. Stops before the LE8 screen comes up and the computer restarts 2-3 seconds later again.

Thanks,

Dave

2 things may help here:
#1-when you install PT and the updater, right-click on the setup file and choose Run as Administrator(do this for all installs on Windows 7 and 10)
#-2 right-click on the PT icon and select Properties>Compatibility and check these 2 check-boxes:
Always Run as Admininstrator
disable Desktop Composition

Tried that eventually last night albee1952.

Unfortunately, it didn't work but thanks for the suggestion.
