Bought PT Express upgraded to PT 11 now want to go back to Express
Hi, I couldn't find an answer on this, maybe a query in the licensing forum will do, but I'll try here first. I bought PT Express for my songwriting partner and we installed that on his AVID account and used it for a few weeks, then bought the upgrade to PT 11 and installed that on his account too. Now we want to transfer the PT 11 license to me and he would go back to Express.
The reason I am concerned is that on his iLok2 it says Express has been surrendered and it's grayed out. Is there a way to do this and recover the Express license? |

I think the only solution would be for him to buy an inexpensive audio interface that comes with Pro Tools Express. I've seen them for $99 and below (M-Audio stuff)

Hey Arkay99
I am asking Avid and someone will get back with an answer as soon as possible. It "may" take a few as you know the forum is up in arms right now ;) But as the last time I will do my best. |
Re: Bought PT Express upgraded to PT 11 now want to go back to Express
This is the answer I got just now:
you say you did the crossgrade from Express to Pro Tools 11, so the Pro Tools Express license correctly shows up as surrendered. If the crossgrade was to the Pro Tools 11 Upgrade/Support 12 month plan purchased in 2015 (or the same plan with extended time to March 31st 2016 purchased after October 10, 2014), then it is currently not transferrable. That is in the Licensing FAQ. Hope it helps somewhat and that you get it sorted out. |
