Amp outputs same level as Main outputs?
 

I received my 11R 2-3 weeks ago and only played thru headphones so far.

Yesterday I tried to connect it to stereo power amp (QSC) and passive studio monitors (Soundcraft). Sound was loud and clear.

Next I tried my Peavey Classic 60/60 poweramp and Peavey 4x12" cab. Setup a rig in mono, switch amp 2 to "Rig output no cab", connected XLR main left output to poweramp XLR left input and 1/4" amp 2 output to 1/4" poweramp right input.

Surprise (1): level is identical on both channels!!! How can it be possible? I always thought amp outputs were instrument level and main outputs where line-level. The poweramp inputs are all unbalanced (even XLR), could it be such a drop in signal level?

Surprise (2): with 11R volume at 10.0 output level was not very high, not low but definitely lower than with my Rocktron Voodu Valve plugged into the poweramp. The Rocktron was WAY louder even with sensitivity input control set halfway, a real 120W tube poweramp! With 11R it is more a 5W.
