10.3.7, 11.0.3 and Mavericks...what to do
So I bought a new Macbook Pro six weeks ago and it came with Mavericks. I stupidly assumed that I could just re-install PT 10 and all would be good.
Technically I was right as PT10.3.7 works fine with my Apogee One. That's not the problem. The problem is that when I updated to 11.0.3 on my iMac running ML 10.6.8 (both 10.3.7 and 11.0.3 are running fine) I found out about the whole 'uninstalller' not working for 10.3.7 on Mavericks. So my question is, what exactly happens if I install PT11.0.3 on my laptop? I'd rather have a working version of 10 than two non- working versions of PT. Will 11.0.3 still run as long as I dont' try to run 10 at the same time? Am I forever doomed to NEVER upgrade from 10.3.7 on my Macbook or are they going to find a way to make the the uninstaller working so I can? It's totally my fault for not checking but now I need to find a way to remedy it. Anyone have any insight? |
Re: 10.3.7, 11.0.3 and Mavericks...what to do
10.3.7 and 11.0.3 are designed as co-installs. Mavericks, however, is not officially supported yet. But some have reported all to be working well. I have 10.3.7 and 11.0.3 on BOTH MacBook Pros. You can use 10.3.7 OR 11.0.3 in any given session. I haven't fired up 10 in a long time now, but it's nice to know I can.
