"Right click" on audio clip freezes PT, anyone had this issue?

If I right click an audio clip in the timeline PT becomes unresponsive and freezes for about a minute. When PT recovers and I regain control, the right clip contextual menu doesn't appear, thus there is no way to enter this menu.

Anyone had anything similar happen?

I think it may have been something to do with attempting to find alternative takes, as I changed one of the search criteria's which seemed to crash the system.

I'm on 2020, dunno if this is something peculiar with that

Hello, did you manage to solve the problem? It just happened to me. Im on 2020.9.1 on Windows 10.
First time in life such an issue.

My specific one is that the wheel starts to spin and after 30 seconds I'm back in control but nothing appears as right-clicked menu. Even if I right-click on an empty area, PT freeezed those 30 seconds then back.

:confused::confused::confused:

It was a while ago so i don’t completely remember what solved it. I don’t think it was a PT bug.

I think it was something to do with the project that I got handed from another editor. They were using split mono files and where these had been dragged onto stereo tracks the fades / start / endpoints of the clips for each .L and .R files were sometimes different. These differences when played on a stereo track seemed to cause an issue in PT... so maybe worth checking this, it’s laborious to check on a big project but I think it did make PT freak out and cause strange behaviour.
