Recommend a USB hub for MacBook Pro?
Yes, I get it. Hubs generally cause pain.
However, I'm wanting to use my 11R for full time I/O, and was hoping I could add a hub so I could have my iLok connected and be able to use either my M-Audio Axiom keyboard or another MIDI/USB i/o once in a while.. SO... Assuming the 11R stays in one USB, has anyone had any experience with using a hub in the other USB port, and if so, is there one that causes less pain in general? |
Re: Recommend a USB hub for MacBook Pro?
I tried two from vendors other than Apple and had lots of trouble - random disconnects etc.
Then I gave in and ordered one from the Apple store - it's a Belkin F4U017. All the problems went away - it just works. ymmv http://reviewedbyeric.com/2011/02/03...-usb-desk-hub/ |
Re: Recommend a USB hub for MacBook Pro?
I use a Logitech 4-port powered USB hub and it works a treat - no problems with it so far. I can even run my session harddrive off of it and everything works great.

Thanks for the informative replies. Looks like Apple is still peddling the Belkin stuff, and Amazon has the unit mentioned above for $18, so I can quit asking questions ;)
I appreciate the help. Texasdave |
D-Link DUB-H7 powered 7-port hub. 2 iLoks, printer, hard drives, mouse etc. Of course, M-Box on a separate port.
