New Pricing

My perpetual support plan ends on December 16th. I have an option to keep it for $199 (double the price I paid for the last three years) or cross-grade to a subscription for $99. There is also a new message that I will get 50% off on the subscription price for two more years. This means that even the subscription will be $199 soon.

I don't make a living with Pro Tools, so I will just keep 2019.10 and look into Studio One.

Thanks to everyone for the knowledge I have learned in this forum.

Re: New Pricing

I'm in the same boat. My perpetual license runs out on Feb 1st and will not take it any further and will remain with 2019.10 or whatever is the updated version by then. A real shame more and more hobbyists like myself are being priced out of the group by AVIDs greed. It's been fun over the last ten years and I have learned so much by being a member of this forum. ProTools has been a fantastic music making tool for me despite its chequered history recently. Thanks guys. Logic Pro X and Studio One 4 will be on hand should my PT ever fail to give me what I need. :-):(

Can we get some confirmation on this interpretation?

Re: New Pricing

My local dealer came up with a short heads-up for the new pricing of ProTools:

After December 31st 2019:

- No re-installment anymore

4 Choices to go ahead with Protools:

- Year subscription (re-subscribe within 1 year)
- Don't re-subscribe. Keep using the Protools version you've ended with
- Get a 12 month subscription. If you don't follow this up, Protools won't work anymore
- Buy a new Protools

After reading this, I wondered if the "per month" leasing option is out of the window too?

hi, are you saying NO-Reinstatement ... where you wrote no Re-installment ??

just wanted to be clear, so if i read this correctly ... after Dec 31st 2019, you will need to BUY a full New Version of PT and start the thing all over again, or go fully subscription !!! do this sound correct ??? i have some client friends that are going to not be happy ..

thx john

I noticed reinstatement is no longer an option in my account.

Works for me. 2019.10 is it and they'll never see another dime from me.
I think they should refund my balance from this year though as I was paid up for updates through April 2020

This is what it says on my products page:

26 Day(s) Left
Your Software Updates + Support Plan expires on Dec 16, 2019 ?
Renew or Subscribe:
Pro Tools
$99.00 1-Year Subscription Crossgrade, Paid Upfront
Move to a Subscription and SAVE 50% off standard price for first 2 YEARS!

Maybe it means I get $49 for two years? Sounds like I pay $99 and that is the 50% discount-

"SAVE 50% off standard price for first 2 YEARS!" .... what happens after this ?? 199.00 per year, i assume ..

Re: New Pricing

Its usually $199 so by paying $99 yearly you save 50%! It isn’t $49 but $99 a year and two years would be $199 with the 50% savings.
