Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
Hi All.
When I solo one track, all other tracks are soloed too. Also when I mute one track, all tracks are simultaneously muted. How can I stop this please? Thank you, Michael. |
Re: Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
Just to clear up the obvious, is the "all" group highlighted in the group list? Without knowing your level of experience with the software, I'd say that's the first thing to check. Read up on track groupings in the manual.

Re: Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
What type of tracks? Are they grouped? That's the simple explanation for all muting (and soloing if you have solo wihtin groups selected when you made that group).
What do you mean by all tracks solo.. meaning they all go into solo mode/show the solo indicator light? What Solo mode are you using? (Setup>Solo). Otherwise provide a clear screen shot of all the tracks in you mix window and show the left panel with groups visible. |

Thanks guys. My experience level is beginner to good. I checked the group section and none are highlighted.
Here is a screen pic. I feel I accidentally did some sort of grouping with this session years ago as this is the only session I have this problem with. |
Re: Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
Mix (not Edit) window screenshot please as requested, showing the group label on each track. This is the first place you should be looking to understand what is going on.
And only screenshot a part of or trim that screenshot if you need to get it as legible as you can, don't make screenshots into (fuzzy) jpgs, use png or gif. But I'm guessing the problem is exactly what was predicted by Bashville above and/or that the "ALL" Group does not necessarily mean what you think it does.... and you do have everything grouped. In the Mix Windows Group side-bar pulldown (little round down arrow button) select "Suspend all Groups". |
Re: Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
Looking at your screenshot, you do indeed have the ALL group enabled. In the box on the lower left, click ALL so that it's not highlighted

Re: Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
Bless you both! You are right. I did as you said; "Suspend All Groups".
I rarely use the Mix window because even though I have two monitors, the Mix window wont travel to my second window. Thanks again. |
Re: Problem:Selecting Solo on 1 Track Selects ALL Tracks
You cannot drag the border of the main PT window, the grey container, that, what is left when edit and mix window are minimized, to your second monitor ???
(So to place the mix window there.) |
