Profile as a monitor Board

Hello All,
Got a profile as a monitor board in our venue, its all good and using it well. The only thing we cant do is to get the main fader as the control level for the cue wedge.

Can this be done? Using the encoder now at the minute but would much prefer the master fader in a dark and live enviroment.

Cheers

Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome to the DUC!!

Under options, busses tab, in the solo and monitor operations. Select "cue on mains fader".

I dont have that button, can get to the screen but there is no option.

I have version 2.7.1.6

Would this make a difference ?

Ah. Yes.

I believe that came available with 2.8.5 for the Profile...

Along with a few other features, the 2.8.5 upgrade would do you well... And you'd probably just have to upgrade to 2.9 anyways, since I imagine they don't sell 2.8 by itself anymore...

Re: Profile as a monitor Board

Hello Wolvesandi,

Back when I was on earlier versions of the software here is how I did it in jus a few steps.

1. Take a 110 ohm "digital" XLR cable from AES 1-2 out to AES 1-2 in.
(You can also use a very short XLR jumper if you have to.
But it is NOT recommended)
2. Assign the monitor (Cue) outputs to AES 1-2
3. Assign AES 1-2 Inputs to your last Stereo Return. (Either 8 or 16)
4. Make sure that channel is assigned to the stereo master buss
AND NOTHING ELSE IS ASSIGNED TO THE MASTER BUSS
5. Assign the master L/R outputs to any output on either the stage rack
or the local rack.
6. Plug what ever you want to use to monitor with into this output.
7. Turn up the cue/monitor knob on the top right of the work surface
to nominal
8. The master fader is now your master cue
9. NEVER...NEVER...NEVER cue/monitor the Stereo return you use.
Very bad things will happen.

Also you must realize there are 3 gain stages between the cue buss and your master output. The cue/monitor volume knob, the input pre/DA of the channel, and the channel fader.. if you use the fader.

I hope this helps.

Upgrade kits are $150 from any VENUE dealer.

Re: Profile as a monitor Board

I would highly suggest getting the upgrade. The majority of features of the 2.8.5 update were for D-Shows being used as a monitor desk. Version 2.9 is the current Version we are on.
