Eucon 2018.3 new eq3 layout?

Hi, Have just installed Eucon 2018.3 on the S6, and it's working well. But, the eq3 7-band now spills out in a new way on the spill zone knobs and in expand mode. Earlier the gain, frequency and Q controls were on separate knobs for each band, this work very well on a knob spill zone or expand. Now, to access the Q factor I have to press (the very small) select switch next to the frequency knob.

This makes eq adjustments very unintuitive compared to how it was earlier. Is there any way to get the eq3 to spill it's controls on the spill zone knobs as it did in Eucon 3.7?

Hmm.. rebooted the S6 a second time and now the strange eq3 layout is back. This can't be right. Eddie - do you know a solution to this?

It seems the problem occurs only on channel/fader 1 and 2 to the right of the attention fader when spilling out a VCA. Eq3s on channel 3 and up spills normally to the knobs.

Greetings,

It doesn't make any sense that this would behave differently with regard to pagetables only on very specific channels. Are you using On Attention Zones for Knob Modules? Let us know if you have more recipe details as I haven't seen this issue personally. I would be curious if anyone else on the forum is experiencing this behavior. Thanks.

Re: Eucon 2018.3 new eq3 layout?

Ok, I will try to do that. The "wrong" knob spill occurs both on the Attention Zones and in the normal expand zone above the faders. But only in the two first members of any spilled VCA group.

One note though, this is on PT 2018.4 Ultimate M40 S6 and latest Eucon/WS and S6 software. I mistakenly wrote 2018.3 in the original post

I am also experiencing another issue, I mix using two PT HDX systems, and have a duplicate of the DX reverb returns from the DX+MX session in the FX session running on PT2. Tracks imported directly from the DX+MX session, only renamed and rerouted outputs.

I have the DX reverbs from the DX+MX session included in a S6 layout on the DX MX session/PT 1.

From time to time the FX reverb returns from the FX session/PT2 will replace the DX reverb returns in that specific layout, even when the S6 has PT1 selected as WS. The only way to solve this is by turning off eucon on PT 2, but that excludes me from easily switching workstations on the S6. Have you seen this?

Greetings,

It came up that there may be some interaction with EuControl running before or after WSControl. Are you also running EuControl? Can you try with only WSControl running? Thanks.

Eucontrol was also installed along with WS using the unified installer to be able to use PTcontrol on an iPad along with the S6. Will try to deinstall Eucontrol and see if that helps.

Thanks for your reply

It is not necessary to uninstall EuControl (though you can if you are only using S6 and not PTC)... simply quit EuControl for the test with just WSControl running. Thanks.

Re: Eucon 2018.3 new eq3 layout?

Hi Jeff,
Now that I fully understand what is happening, I see this a lot. Random knobs reversing there order on my s6. I guess it's the eucontrol interference. I also see it when mapping to fader expand zones. I will get fader 1 and 8, 2 and 7, 3 and 6, 4 and 5 mirroring eachother. This is kind of a biggie issue.
