What Audio PCI Card to buy?
As the new version of PT LE 6.0 dosenīt support my
computer (a G4 500 Mhz Sonnet card with - ATI Radeon Mac edition graphics card (this is enough for the best 3D modeling applications). 512Meg Ram. A fast IDE HD) I will port to Cubase SX. What Audio PCI card with midi support is the best buy for me? Hopefully a card that is possible to get secondhand somewhere. Please answere you who made this solution! Thanks! Danne/ |
Re: What Audio PCI Card to buy?
Get a 2nd hand LynxOne card if 2 i/o and 48k is enough for you. They sound excellent and can be found very cheap.

What about the delta series.
Saw that the 1010LT had 10 in and 10 out. No box interface but I got a mackie mixer I could attach it to. Danne/ |
Re: What Audio PCI Card to buy?
I didn't know that PTLE 6.0 won't support old school G4s. Are you absolutely sure? I was about to suggest a DIgi001. It's funny, but as a longtime Mac and Digi user, I don't even have the word "audio card" in my vocab. It's so PC.
No disrespect intended . Just an observation. Peace. homershines for phat drum sounds & samples message me at [email protected] |
Re: What Audio PCI Card to buy?
I got the answere from a couple of users that it didnīt work, but no one with exactly my configuration of computer.
Then I read the 'OS X/Pro Tools 6.x setup and general troubleshooting' tread here at the forum and there is a lot to think of to get it to work. Sometimes it looks like you should have a separate computer only for Pro Tools, strange! There I saw the requirement: Supported CPU Models, Speeds & Requirements: Power Macintosh G4 (AGP graphics) I donīt have a AGP computer only a ATI Radeon Mac edition graphics card, which got a better performance than the AGP graphic! Why? So I didnīt get any answere from Digisupport only this above. Then I checked out the Cubase SX on a machine like mine and itīs a dream to work with. It got Altivec Support as well. Iīd rather been with Pro Tools cause itīs easy to use, but now I got no choice :-( Danne/ |
