HELP: Problems Installing Pro Tools LE 8
 

Hi all

I'm wondering if anyone could help me with this, it's driving me mad!

I recently got Pro Tools LE 8 and a mbox 2 mini for my laptop (Macbook Pro OS X 10.5.8). I've been trying to install pro tools, however each time I try it goes along the lines of this:

I put in the CD and it loads. I click on the 'Install Pro Tools' icon. The installer starts and a box comes up saying

"This package contains a program that determines if the software can be installed. Are you sure you want to continue?...If you're not sure about the source of this package, click Cancel to prevent it from running the program and installing the software."

So I clicked CONTINUE, and then the Application Installer crashes repeatedly, with the message that the application has quit unexpectedly and you're given the option to ignore/relaunch or report. I've sent multiple reports to apple which of course were to no avail, and if I hit relaunch the whole vicious circle starts again.

I'm really stuck and fed up at this stage, so if anyone out there has had this happen and knows a solution I'd really appreciate it! I'm at my wits end!

Probably an incompatibility between your OSX version and the PT 8 version.

Hi, have you solve the problem, because I´m facing the same problem, and I have no idea to solve it.
