WAH WAH pedals?

Hey,

Was just asking for some advice on some wah wah pedals guys and what ones you think are the best. As alot of you are inthe serious know how. Two i have looked at are the Vox ones and also the Jim Dunlop one was just wondering if you had a preference or are there any others on the market that i shopud be aware of. Basically what one is the best.

Thanks Guys,

Much apreciated

This is a dangerous question. There is no such thing as 'best' or 'worst'. Go to a good shop with a wide variety of pedals, try each one out, and listen to them. Some of them have subtle differences, others are dramatic. But the bottom line is that no one can tell 'you' which one 'you' will like the most, or which one will best suit your style.

It is all up to your ear... I will say that the Dunlop Jimi Hendrix model has a much broader sweep than the Dunlop Crybaby. I think the sweep is more broad than the Vox model as well but the Vox wah sounds good too. Check them out.. your ears will tell you more than we can

I have the dunlop crybaby, I like it a lot. I've had it for years, and haven't compared it to anything else.

It also depends on how and where you are going to use it, and what you are trying to accomplish with it. I like the sound of the dunlop in the studio, but in a live situation, I prefer the switchless Morley pedals. Of course the Morleys also have the problem that you can't leave it in one position and use it as a filter unless you are standing still and keeping your foot in one position...

As was stated before, you're just going to have to try them all, and figure out which is best for you in your situation.

My personal favourite is the Snarling Dog's Whine O Wah +.

I dont know if they still make it, but it has a seriously larger range as well as a much wider physical sweep than anything I've tried. It has 3 modes (lamely labeled of course) and they control the centerof the frequency range, from bass frequencies to treble frequencies. There is also a switch that is labeled tesosterone and estrogen. Testosterone is a much beefier sound, estrogen is good for the crazy funk "shaft" sounds.

An added bonus is the volume boost with adjustable volume.

I suggest you try one out if you can.
