Nubus DSP Farm Fails Test #135?

I have several nubus DSP farms in an expansion chassis and one of them fails test #135. The system seems to work fine but what does this mean?

System:
7100/80 with NewerTech G3 upgrade
Expansion chassis
3 i/os
5 farms
NuVerb
OS 8.5.1
PT 4.1.1
DAE/DSI 3.4.2

Thanks,
Charles

Re: Nubus DSP Farm Fails Test #135?

This most likely means that one of your cards needs to be repaired. The tough part about this is that a problem reported on one card can actually be caused be another card in the TDM environment.

If you have multiple cards in the system, you can often narrow the "culprit" card down by process of elimination.

Your best bet is to talk to Digidesign Tech Support at 650/842-6699. They can help you narrow it down possibly and/or give you an RA for the card(s).

Thanks for the response. Can the NuVerb (TDM version) cause this error? I will try work through a process of elimination to determine what might be going on. What is test #135 anyway?

Re: Nubus DSP Farm Fails Test #135?

Here's the definition of a -135 error message:

Errors 135-138 indicate a TDM Transmission problem. It occurs most commonly on Pro Tools III hardware and could be:

- Peripheral cable not connected properly
- TDM Ribbon cable not seated properly
- Corrupted DigiSetup (trash It and restart the Mac)
- Bad initialization of the Mac OS (shut down then restart Mac)
- TDM Module, TDM Ribbon, or DSP Farm failure

Yes, a Nuverb card could very well be the culprit. The Nuverb card was never officially supported in Pro Tools versions 4.0 or greater and I have often heard of intermittent problems from people using them in 4.x or greater Pro Tools systems.

It would be the first card I would remove.
