Re: Very concerned about buying an Eleven Rack
I'd look for one that has the expansion pak already added, but if you cant figure that out before hand, or get a good deal on one, you can buy the expansion pack: https://www.avid.com/plugins/eleven-rack-expansion-pack

Re: Very concerned about buying an Eleven Rack
What @nedoram said. Check if the 11R has the expansion pack installed, very worth it. The expansion pack is $100, so better have it already installed then having to pay for it. I think I bought mine also around 2012 and it was already installed.

Re: Very concerned about buying an Eleven Rack
Hi,
I just purchased a used eleven rack last weekend. When I check the firmware on the machine itself, it says "REV 0510". I'm guessing that's pretty old. On one of the software programs that has the Eleven rack picture, I believe it said 1.11.1. Since this machine is used and has already been registered, I'm guessing it's going to be nearly impossible to get the expansion pack and editor, correct? I checked the thread where people were requesting new serial numbers and opening a ticket with avid, but the last response is 2016. I don't use PRO tools with it. I run directly out of the line level outputs into my Tascam DP32sd and its sounds great. However, I would like to get the expansion pack and editor so I don't have to keep editing my different rigs on the unit itself. Is it a lost cause for me to purchase the ex pack and try and install it? Computer is a laptop running win 10. Thanks in advance. |
Re: Very concerned about buying an Eleven Rack
It's $100 to buy and download from https://www.avid.com/plugins/eleven-rack-expansion-pack.
If for some reason it doesn't work (which I doubt) you could ask Avid for a refund. |

Re: Very concerned about buying an Eleven Rack
There are PLENTY of units out there with the Expansion pack in them. I have owned one for years and its a great sounding unit. Not sure how it compares to your old Line 6, but it faithfully models the tones I need. If you're a total death metal head like my son- go get an Axe FX. we have one of those as well and it's incredible for metal tones- nothing better- but it's 10X the money of a used Eleven rack.

Re: Very concerned about buying an Eleven Rack
I just found out that my friend has a used Eleven Rack and he is willing to let my try it out and he'll sell it to me if I like it.
I'm looking forward to testing it. |
