Anyone else experiencing this?

Please excuse the playing, I was trying to write when all creativity was halted by the consistent dropouts of ProTools Control.

This is on a test system running OS X 10.10.5 MBP 2.7 i7 w/ 8g ram, *seagate USB 3 drive (for system test) PT 12.3, Eucon 3.3.1 with my regular arsenal...Glyph FW800 GPT50, Saffire Pro40, OctoPre MkII.

I experienced PTC dropouts on my 10.10.3 rig (system drive 7200RPM SATA) but not as frequent...and annoying!

Just trying to work out the kinks....before I get kinky....?

I mean...I'm not going to judge...I've done my fair share of dropping out, but seriously?

i've given up on it.

too many drop outs

I'd really like the tracks selctor to work - but I am relaunching it constantly

so much so I just shrugged my shoulders

will take a look at a later version

hopefully its not all geared at forcing us to 12... cos I cant be bothered with that either..

PT 10 paying my mortgage just fine....

Smart decision. I think avids next console after the s6 will be a bunch of iPad docks stuck together. Lol.

FWIW, I seem to be having better luck since I altered my network setup.

Previously, had modem feeding wifi router/switch with cat5 going to the PT computer(what I would call a "typical" setup). Connection was completely erratic and I gave up on it after 3 days of fussing.

Now; pulled the cat5 from the PT computer and connected to another wifi router/switch right at the workstation(a $39 Netgear N300 piece from Best Buy) and use this wifi ONLY for the iPad(everything else connects to the main router) and its been way better(but this is only the first day so more testing/abuse is called for:o)

Oops, I spoke too soon on the latest being more dependable. Spent much of today trying to make PTC connect and work. The bummer is that each time I find a combination of things to do that make it work, the next time it fails, that combo doesn't work and I have to try more and different stuff. AVID....THIS IS ANNOYING!!! It seems to be connected to the Eucon app which, all to often, simply does not "see" the iPad/PTC app as an available device. When things work, Eucon shows the iPad. When things don't work, the iPad is not found, and I have yet to figure out how to make things connect with any consistency. Sometimes restarting Eucon works, other times it doesn't. Sometimes calling up Task Manager and ending the process, and restarting Eucon works, other times it doesn't. Its dandy when it DOES work(and should get even better when they add the features that we are teased with when they show the DOCK that's not available till next year......ARGHHH)

Okay, some more digging and I may have the (sad) answer. According to the main website, the app is only qualified to run with PT12.1 and later(so maybe its just not going to be dependable on any older version):o:confused:

Updated to Eucon 3.3.2 yesterday on my test system running PT 12.3, OXS 10.10.5 and I couldn't get my ipad to stay connected. In my video, you see at least it reconnects, now it just stays disconnected. Switched over to the 'working' system PT 12.2.1 on OSX 10.10.3. Gave me a bit of grief, but after restarting my iPad, and restarting the Eucon 3.3.1 app it connected and stayed connected.

I'll do some more testing today, but yes, annoying is a nice way of putting it Dave.

So it has issues on the latest PT as well....Hmmmm
