Pro tools 11 won't activate
 

Hey guys, basically i installed Pro Tools 11 on my mac and for some reason when i try to activate it i keep getting an error message:
"Licence server error: unexpectedException
Error message is:Couldn't open iLok due to usb error
Caused by: Error setting a configuration for the usb device"

Just some extra info, i originally activated the pro tools software on a windows computer. Cheers in advance for any help.

Is your iLok plugged into a hub or directly into your computer?

Did you install the latest version of iLok manager from the iLok website?
That would at least give you the latest drivers. Then you can see if iLok manager will see the dongle.

I run a dual (Windows / Mac) setup and have no issues activating licenses on one OS and using them on the other.

Nevermind guys i've sorted it, after reinstalling the iLok manager all my licences were wiped off the iLok for some reason, after putting them back on Pro Tools works fine again. Thanks again for your help.

I have a similar problem. When I click "activate" in order to install Pro Tools 11.2.1, I get an error that says:

"License server error: UnexpectedException
Error message is: Couldn't open an iLok due to a USB error.
Cause by: Error setting a configuration for the USB device.

The license activation process cannot continue at this time."

What can I do, any suggestions?

Go to Latest News & Known Issues linked from the bottom of the www.iLok.com home page.

First, make sure you have downloaded and installed the most recent version of the iLok License Manager.

Then follow the instructions in the second article to perform a Sync/Repair on all of your iLoks.

Please note, to activate the Pro Tools 11 Bundle license you will need an iLok 2 (the rectangular one, not the original key shaped iLok). Otherwise it will not work.
