UVI Falcon stuttering / freezing

I have recently upgraded to PT Ultimate (2018.12) with 1 x HDX card. It's a fresh install on High Sierra (as recommended by Avid) - OS is also a fresh install.

I've installed UVI Falcon (using the Avid download links from my Avid account). It will open, and the GUI appears to be working correctly but after hitting a few notes (via MIDI from a controller keyboard) it will stutter and freeze. The amount of notes played before this happens varies depending on the patch loaded, some patches will play absolutely fine but most cause it to stutter and freeze. It typically freezes for around 5-10 seconds and then you can play it again (although it will do the same thing). Whilst 'frozen', when hitting notes on the controller keyboard no additional sounds play, and also the GUI keyboard in the plugin stops responding as well.

I've tried mucking around with buffer settings to no avail and having skipped through the menus and options, I can't see anything obvious that would cause this. Any suggestions?

Re: UVI Falcon stuttering / freezing

Having investigated further (basically opening the plugin and PT System Usage window at the same time) I can see that it is using 100% CPU when the stuttering / freezing occurs.

The above is in a brand new session with one single track with Falcon as a plugin.

I had the same issue (but do not remember for sure how I solved it) but I "think" it was trying to run it at 32 buffer and had to go to 128 or something
But you say you have tried changing buffer so i do not know
It is now working great, so I will check later today in the studio and see what buffer I am using

The only buffer settings I've tried are in the PT playback engine settings (I've tried all settings from 128 up to 2048 samples). Thus far I've not found any other place to adjust buffer settings.

The settings you mention - are they in PT or in Falcon itself?

The buffer settings are in PT and not in Falcon.

Yes as Southside said in PT

Are there some settings I'm missing then? The only settings I can find that relate to the word 'buffer' are in the playback engine (settings from 128 - 2048 samples). I've tried all of these and they make no difference. As soon as you hit a few keys the CPU usage maxes out and it freezes / stutters

I have exactly the same problem. Does anyone know how to solve the problem?

UVI Falcon version 1.6.4 has been updated to version 1.6.6 – check your Avid account. Hope that fixes it!
