Different PT versions on 2 computers - 1 license possible
Hi all,
I want to buy a new laptop (just for recordings on location, no mixing/mastering/composing) and install the latest PT version 2019 @ windows10. And move my iLok dongle from my studio-PC to the laptop if needed. I got a Perpetual Productlicense, Pro Tools | Ultimate Software Subscription. The thing is: I got a quite perfect setup working&rolling in my studio: PT 12.5HD/Windows7 as basis, including a lot of third party plugins (NI etc) and I don't want to change that for now. Does anyone know what happens to my iLok subscription when I install Ultimate on the new laptop? I don't have a clue and can't find any news on that. If the subscition is updated to PT2019 I probably can't use 12.5HD at the PC any more (while moving the iLok dongle back)...is that a fact? Can anyone help me out in this? Thanks and bye |

Look at the license on your I Lok. Every current license will be supported so, no you dont need to update your old system or even put 2019.6 on the new laptop if you don't want to. IOW you can install whatever version to the laptop that will work, it doesn't have to be the current version, just licensed on you ilok

Thanks for replying! I want the newest (Ultimate) version on the laptop, and keep working with 12.5.1 on the PC/studio, with the same iLok-dongle. All the licenses are there PT10-12HD and PT 'Perpetual' + PT 'Ultimate Perpetual', so I guess you're right :-) see att Thnks/bye |
