ADC with automation

I know this has come up A LOT, but I think it's time to do something about it-

Some of my mix sessions have A LOT of system delay on them.
What about offering a preference to 'push' automation back after a pass (similar to the 'thinning' option) by the system delay amount?
Some of my sessions have upward of 15,000 samples system delay and I have to manually nudge after every pass...

Thoughts?

huh? I specifically tested automation timing in pro tools when there was lots of plug in delay and pdc being used and it was bang on.

What am i missing?

AHH! I think i have got it! You don't mean drawn automation, but you mean when recording it in realtime by moving knobs for example, and it's not being compensated automatically?

Obviously this would only occur on tracks that have a significant plug in delay somewhere in their audio chain?

I'll give this a test myself as i am curious.

Just be thankful that pro tools plays back the automation where it is actually visible, as hardly any daw's can do that, believe me i tested them ALL.

Not sure at this point. They’re SO backed up on bug ‘fixes’ and useless new ‘features’...
