I wonder why the function of separate (B) is so long in my multiple track sessions.
 
I wonder why the function of separate (B) is so long (2-3 seconds) in my multiple track sessions. Is this the latest version of Pro Tools (2018 up to date)? It was faster on weaker computers. The other functions are fine ....

Ok, everything is corrected. Erase the database (preferences) and cache.

I've experienced the same behavior on a single audio track voiceover session when the number of edits pile up. Selecting a miniscule amount and then deleting it takes no time as usual, but separate at cursor takes quite a while. Frustrating to be sure.

Indeed. I thought my computer was flawed or was unfit. I did not think that erasure of preferences and hiding also acted to solve this curious problem. But I imagine a badly ordered database, where the complex reading of the data in game is too long, which creates this delay. Now all is fine.

I know this is an old thread, but, just in case others have the same issue, have a look here. It solved my lag when separating at cursor. Doing the Preferences and Database Dance didn't help.
