Best free RTAS plug-ins?
Somebody recently turned me on to Bomb Factory Studio Essentials Free Plug-Ins on the Digi website, which includes a plug-in modeled after the UREI 1176 limiter, one of my favorite pieces of studio gear.
I'm wondering if anyone else out there has particularly favorite plug-in to recommend. Can be for any task or effect you find useful. Only requirements are that it: (1) has to be free; (2) can run on Mac-based PT LE 6 or higher; and (3) functions as well as, if not better than, a comparable pay-to-play plug-in. |

The bluecat stuff is ok, i wouldn't say any free plugin blows me. Flux stereo tool is pretty handy.
Ditto on Craig's comment about the essentials. |

The Massey Plugs. The free versions may not save thier settings but they sound great.

If it's free, does that really matter which ones are the best? I mean if it's free, why not just load them all?

The Tamaramuse Thingthatgoesacrosserizer plug is better than free.
Tamaramuse Audio, LLC gives you $.39 to use it. |

Re: Best free RTAS plug-ins?
Great idea for a thread. In years past I have dug up the odd decent freeware plugin. My memories no good though and as I'm on a new system now, it'd be nice to be reminded of some good ones...
