Curious concern

I don't know how to explain this so bare with me.

Whenever I use any plug-in and begin editing something, it always erases whatever's above that line. Is this fixed through a setting?

If it helps I'm using pro tools 8 with the M-Box 2 mini.

What line? Could you please try to explain more in-depth? Thanks!

I'm betting it didn't work, or that you married the one that fell for it. :D:D:D

Whether you're using a plugin or not, it just looks like you've copied and pasted a section into an inappropriate location.

When you're on the Notes Pane in the MIDI editor window, you can right-click and get different editing options. If you select "merge," it'll put in the notes you're moving and leave the previously written ones there as well. That might be what you need to do.

From the PT Reference Guide (in MIDI editing chapter):
Quote:

Merge
The Merge command pastes the clipboard to the
current Edit selection or at the current Edit cursor
location and merges the pasted data with
any MIDI notes already present at the same location.
