Slowing Down Track
 

Is there a non-HD way to slow a track down a few BPMs, maintain original pitch, record a track at that slower tempo, and then speed it back up to its original tempo? Would something like this require a certain plug-in?

Elastic Audio should work, use poly in the base track and use x-form to speed up the other.

Could anyone say for what purposes then the plugin Monophonic is better to use?

First thing, for changing tempo, make sure all audio tracks are in TICKS mode(they usually default to SAMPLES).

Generally, this is how to decide:
Monophonic-use for a sound that is single notes(bass guitar, vocal, flute)
Polyphonic-use for sounds that play chords(guitar, piano, organ)
Rhythmic-use for drums and percussion

Hit youtube and watch some tutorials on Elastic Audio(seeing it in action beats any description here:o).

A word of advice/caution:
EA can do great things, but it can also do bad things, so cover your ASSets.
Option #1-duplicate playlist BEFORE doing EA edits
Option #2- open the session and then go File>Save As and save another session file, such as "song name EA edits" or "song name faster"(so you can revert back in the event of regret:rolleyes: Later on, its simple to drag the unwanted versions of a session(the session icons in the main folder) and drop them into the "Back up" sessions folder(where all the auto-save versions go):o
