XLR versus TS
 

The confusion is between xlr line level which you usually find on high end equipment which usually requires a dedicated preamp, and mic level combo which you usually find on prosumer type equipment. If you “double pre” you’re liable to blow out your second preamp. Proceed with caution. The give away is the phantom switch.
