IO Insert mono to stereo with delay comp?

Hi, my system is down right now so I am unable to check this. Can someone tell me if the hardware IO Inserts would allow this set up and also have correct delay compensation for the inserts?

Insert:
Out 1 > external FX ---> In 1
________________\---> In 2
Insert:
Out 3 > external FX --- >In 3
________________\---> In 4

Output:
Out 2 Stereo Mix L >2 track tape
Out 4 Stereo Mix R >2 track tape

I'm trying to remember if PT lets you do a mono insert to stereo return (with proper delay comp on both channels).

Much appreciated!

Hardware Inserts need to use "stacked" I/O in order to be compensated for properly.

So if the send is 3-4, the return would be 3-4 also.

Thanks, I kind of suspected that.

Additionally, if your hardware unit is a time-based effect unit(reverb/delay), I would probably not use it as an insert and would send to it, and return it to a new stereo track:o

That's throws off the timing since the delay compensation algorithm does not know how to handle it? For example, your timed delay may no longer be in sync with the beat.
