Yes, CDN dollars.

The extra kicker is they charged tax on it, even though Avid is a US company and no tax should apply.

That's cheap...it's $999 USD if your original support plan lapsed...

Forget it, not interested.

That's around $1.5K CDN.

I was really hesitant to buy in for a third time!

The last two times, it seemed like full functionality was just around the corner.

The next thing you know it's time again and they've moved the goal posts.

When did the HD renewal price drop from $599 to $399?

YYR123 03-31-2017 01:09 PM

$399 in US Dollars

The OP was buying in Canadian Dollars.

Yep they hit me with tax also...all deductible mind you, but tax'd none the less

Yes, but the US renewal was $599 not to long ago.

Maybe about 1.5 years ago.....after a lot of he|| was raised...they dropped it.

I missed that price drop. While I'd still prefer something like $199, $399 isn't so bad considering all the extra plugs you get + the ongoing phone support, rolling updates etc...

Now how about dropping the HD "reinstatement fee", or as I like to call it, "$999 to get from HD9 to HD10."

Re: Rolling the dice one more time! HD Renewal

I've submitted to support regarding the tax issue. Waiting to hear back.

A US based corp charging CDN tax seems very odd to me, especially since Avid's CDN TAX ID was not provided on the invoice.
