Avid Pro Audio Community - HP z440 Win10 Aja Lhe plus Protools 12.5 Media Composer 8.5.2

Hi All,

I'm a new forum user, a long term reader of these forums and long term poster on the Avid video forums. I'm hoping someone can help a bit with an issue I just encountered at a customer of mine.

On 2x HP z440 Win10 Aja Lhe plus Protools 12.5 Media Composer 8.5.2 the video engine inside PT is not working at all. Inside MC all works perfectly fine. Using latest AJA 12.3.7 drivers

Inside PT I'm not even able to create a new video track or play a imported clip. The video engine starts when enabling and inside the menu's the 'disable video output' item becomes available but when importing a clip and trying to play the system immediately errors out.

Is PT using the same open IO plugins location as MC to access the AJA card located in C:\Program Files\Avid\AVX2_Plug-Ins or is the Aja open I/O driver installer also supposed to install the driver somewhere else?

Because PT is not able to play video at all I wonder if AJA is the cause of the problem. I hope I will be able to test the same combination on an HP Z400 with a Nitris DX next week.

In the mean time... has anybody else managed to get an AJA kona card to work with PT and MC on the same machine in windows 10?
