DIGI REQUIRES IT FOR FIREWIRE BUT THE BOXES AND THE PEOPLE AT STORES DON`T KNOW.

Many firewire enclosures that use the 911 chip advertise it on the box. It's like a badge of honor or something like that. Keep looking and you’ll find one. However, you may need to look more places than your local mom and pop computer outlet or some limited selection mega store.

Not all firewire bridges that use the Oxford 911 chipset are the same. If you don't mind spending just a little more for your drives, check out Pacific Pro Audio. They sell firewire drives with the Oxford 911 bridge and I've never had an issue with one of them. I did have an issue once where I blew out the bridge on a drive by plugging something else into the firewire buss and PPA replaced the bridge for nothing.
