New PT11 purchase - free PT12 on release?
 
Hi all,

Here's my dilemma. I moving from a studio-only working situation to doing some editing at home.I'm going to take advancing of the PTMP>PT11 crossgrade. I do a little teaching at a college so I'm eligible for the academic version.

I really can't hold off for PT12 but wonder if buying PT11 at this stage would make me eligible for a free PT12 license on release? I've read somewhere that this might be the case.

I emailed Avid a few weeks ago about this but didn't hear anything back.

You should as long as it's released before your year of your support plan expires.
