Midi notes deleting when editing and writing in notes
 

Whenever I edit MIDI notes in the MIDI editor, if I copy and paste a note (mainly when editing drums) if the note appears under another note, it causes the note above to delete. Is there any way to fix this? Or is there a reason it does this and there is another way to go about it? I mainly have this problem when editing my what I record from my electronic drum kit. I use Addictive drums 2 and send the midi signals from my Alesis kit into Pro Tools.

You can click'n'drag to move notes, add Alt key to copy'n'drag, or copy then Alt+M to merge notes.

I'll try that out, also I've been having the problem of some sustain notes holding out forever (I use a sustain pedal with my komplete keyboard) I meant to add that in there as well. If i use a string ensemble or something they sometimes hold out forever until another note kicks in

That could be the VI or the preset. Is it the same for all VIs?

I believe so, i am still a pleb when it comes to midi lol

Have you looked at the sustain controller data on that track?
