'write automation to selection' keyboard shortcut
 

Hi,
Is there a 'write automation to selection' keyboard shortcut?
I'm using auto preview to dial in the setting on a eq.
If I use 'Write to All Enabled' is overwrites volume automation when I inevitably forget to switch it off in the auto window.
I can use a controller but if there was a shortcut, that would be ace!

Unfortunately no.

I put the automation window in the bottom right corner (store it in a window config for easy recall if you close it by accident) and automate a mouse click for 'preview' 'write to selection' and 'auto match' with Keyboard Maestro. Works like a charm.

The primary use of the iOS app for me is Preview/Write to selection and number pad shortcuts (when I'm on my laptop).

It's hard not to be cynical about the lack of key commands for advanced automation. But that ain't going to change any time soon. For any Pro Tools user who actually understands what Preview does, you owe it to yourself to buy a PT|Dock at a minimum. You will work A LOT faster with it. And I you have the coin, there are plenty of ways to upgrade from that.

I've had a look at keyboard maestro and i've got 'auto preview' and 'write auto to selection' setup. Seems to work really well.

I have the artist control and I programmed all these key commands to custom made macros, it is incredibly effective, not only for these automation commands, but for a lot of other workflows.

+1 For keyboard maestro. I set it up once and now I never have to think about it, it's just like a keyboard shortcut
