Memory RAM for Mid 2012 MBP
Hi,
I have a mid 2012 MBP (MojaveOS) with 8 GB Memory RAM, and I feel my Pro Tools 12 is dragging a bit, especially with video playing. I use it for sound editing/design and I have a feature film project coming up soon and I feel my mac won't be able to keep up. Is it recommended to update to 16 GB Memory RAM to my MBP, even though Apple says it can only support 8? What are your thoughts? Also when I was working in another film months ago (1h15m long), with a session of 20 audio tracks more or less, the video was slow sometimes and I had opened the System Usage window and in Activity > Memory was usually around 76%. That is too much, right? I should feel the difference if upgrading to 16 GB, correct? Thanks! |
Re: Memory RAM for Mid 2012 MBP
I'm pretty sure you can upgrade to 16GB of RAM - I was able to with my 2011 MBP. It definitely will improve performance. I also upgraded to an internal SSD drive and the MBP runs great!
