How & Why you should remove Win 10 Freeware update.
No compatibility and it wont go away?
REASON 1. It loads a start-up item: "The executable GWX.exe autostarts through the Task Scheduler. GWX.exe is the system tray icon." -This slows you system. REASON 2. Windows 10 IS NOT SUPPORTED BY Avid or Pro Tools!!! HOW-TO REMOVE: In Windows Start menu type 'win update' and open it. click installed updates on bottom left. Look for update: KB3035583 ; sort by date to quickly find KB3035583 Right click, uninstall. When prompted, restart system. SOURCE: http://www.howtogeek.com/218856/how-...fication-tray/ |

So how long do you think it will be before Avid qualifies Win10? Sometime mid to late 2017 you think?

If it was, that would mean that a significant number of Pro Tools users would be able to remain current in OS terms, but could stay at PT11, without having to buy in to a support plan. |
