how to stop pop-up hints?
 

I just want to know if there is a way to disable those annoying little hints which pop-up in Pro Tools 8 if you hold the mouse over a feature. It especially drives me nuts when using elastic audio- when I hover over a warp marker it insists on telling me what a warp marker is for, making it hard to see details of the track. I have checked preferences and see no mention of it. How do I disable this feature? Thanks.

Hi,

It is in preferences. Called tool tips. I think it's on the very first page.

Hi Chris-

Thanks so much for the helpful reply. Who knew that Pro Tools called those pop-ups "Tool Tips". I found it just like you said on the first page of Preferences. It had two fields under Tool Tips: Function and Details. I don't know what Function refers to but I deselected Details and the pop-ups went away! I am happy again. Thanks.

BTW tooltip is the proper Windows UI name for these rollover effects. Apple calls them help tags but many developers call them tooltips on Mac as well, to Apple’s apparently frustration.
