PTF crashes and says projects created in newer version

1 Attachment(s)
Hello there.
I am running Pro tools First.
My system settings are below.
When I try to open a project that I did manage to create I get the message that the session was uploaded by newer version of Pro tools (see below).
If I go to create rather than open I can open a project but PTF immediately crashes.
I have tested my avid log in on other machines and everything works fine. However on my machine it always does this.
I have reinstalled PTF, I have the asio drivers installed. Any ideas?
Please.

Which version of PTF are you running? Have you installed the latest version; 2020.9?

I have the same issue. Very frustrating. Have uninstalled and reinstalled PT. I have talked to the geek squad and optimized my settings, and still no luck.

Pro Tools First is an embarrassment, its project storage is very unreliable. This should not be being inflicted on users and Avid should end of life this product since they can't seem to ship stable software, and this silliness with multiple issues has gone on for years.

Do yourself a favor and get off Pro Tools First. If you are on Mac look at Logic Pro (or Garageband for simple stuff). Or on Windows Reaper. But there are many other choices as well, none of which have near the number of issues and restrictions as Pro Tools First.

DUC is littered with reports of problems costing people their time and hard work when they lose data... or just can't work reliably. At this point the amount of problems should be so concerning that nobody should want to use First and risk losing their work... and if you do, well you should have seen not to.

If you really need Pro Tools then buy or subscribe to Pro Tools (standard) and work on local sessions not cloud projects.
