Most stable recent Mac OS & PT Version
 

Hi, I'm planning on upgrading my mac pro trashcan. I've been using it successfully on mavericks for years but it's time to move with the times.

Can you experts tell me please, what has been the most stable combination of os and pro tools? I also have all the usual spectrasonics/sonnox/waves/soundtoys plugs that would need to be compatible.

many share the opinion that it would be PT 2019.5 running on Mojave 10.14.5

We have 3 12 core trashcans and the one we stayed at Sierra 10.12.6 and run PT2019.5 ultimate is the one which is the MOST stable. The other two with Mojave are good but have some weird stuff every now and again.

IMHO if you can find Sierra I would definitely try that first as it is super stable with 2019 and the trashcan ;)

Every plugin company out there?

You could very much expect that if a plugin didn't have problems on previous releases it shouldn't have problems on new releases either. The ones that have problems should fix the plugins no matter what version of PT you are using

I am trying to do the same thing, but i updated to mojave and go notice to update protools version I have to be compatible. But I went to the site that explains all the new features but no where to start or download the update process.. So how do I update my protools? I have a perpetual upgrade license
