two licenses on one iLok .. one Perpetual And one Subscription
 

hi, i have a friend that called me with this ..

he has an iLok with a Perpetual and a Subscription License on it .. the Subscription was let to Run Out .. but they have the Perpetual License to use ..

well, pro tools would not see the Perpetual License while the subscription was on the iLok ..

i suggested he move the subscription off the iLok and that worked out fine ..

is this normal ?? or odd behavior ??

While I would call it wrong, I also would consider it normal. Many years ago when you needed an MP3 license to work with MP3 files, more than a few people had expired MP3 licenses that threw an iLok flag when they moved to 10(where the MP3 feature was built-in):o

oh, thats interesting info .. i also wonder if there is a hierarcy of how the licenses are looked at .. and why subscription would be seen / looked for first ..

Expired subscription or NFR licenses will prevent PT or plug-ins from running, so best to deactivate (and Hide) those that have expired.
