192digital i/o max number of aes channels
am I reading the literature correctly? I see that our 192 digital i/o came equipped with 2 aes cards, each capable of 8 in and 8 out for a total of 16 in and 16 out aes that can be used simultaneously on this unit. There are 2 empty slots to the right that we want to fill up for more channels
we want to get at least 32 simultaneous channels of aes OUT of Pro Tools at a max sample rate of 96k. I thought we could fill in the other 2 slots with the same cards and achieve that. however I am reading the 192 digital i/o literature from digi and it says "of those 32 possible channels, 16 can be accessed simultaneously" so does that mean that if I want 16 more channels of aes out of pro tools, that I have to buy a whole new 192 digital i/o and that just buying 2 more aes cards for the 2 empty slots on our current 192 digital i/o will not let me achieve 32 aes pro tools outputs at 96k? and all of this is disreguarding the 2 extra channels of aes in XLR format that come built into the 192's....those won't be much benefit to us i'm fairly certain I know the answer, but wanted to check with all my pro colleagues first. thank you to anyone who could enlighten me |
Re: 192digital i/o max number of aes channels
Each 192 can only address 16 I/O at a time.
