Those jolly nice people at source connect

Dear All

Source Connect 3.5.1 stand alone is released now and now comes with the apt-x codec free

Nice :-)

Good for some..

Bad for studios who have Zepher/APT boxes with ISDN lines. And contracts to hold those lines with monthly costs..

Ouch - next you will be telling me you own Dolby E boxes and a LM100 too

Cheers

Wait, does that mean you can somehow connect with someone who has an APT ISDN box?

Opps, guess not. At least according to Source Connect site. That would be rad if you could.

no - but it gives you the same low latency codec and increased bandwidth option.

OHHH I thought it did. ok well not so bad then We still use Zepher and Apt far more than Source Connect. Most source connect projects we do are cheeper based projects and clients. And well it works so I don't blame em. I just hate being 100% reliant on the internet.

The original reason we got source connect was so we could do bridges for some smaller studios in our area.
