cd backup/file management idea/question

ok...
I hope i can articulate this well....

the idea:
for cd archiving, make as many folders as necessary containing 700mb chunks of your session's audio files. You can name em disk 1,2,3 etc. This makes it easier on the brain if you need to backup the same project over time; without mish-mashing the order on several cds thing...

the question:
is there an easy way for you to tell your session to recognize these new folders? When you open up your session you need to locate 1 file per folder until session knows where everything is. But even if you save, it won't remember where you put everything.

or....any better ideas??
