11R and Fast Track C600
I'm using the 11R but need more audio inputs and outputs and just saw the new M-Audio Fast Track C600. Is there a way to run both the 11R and the Fast Track C600 simultaneously? Is the 11R compatible with Pro Tools MP 9 ?
Many thanks! |

Many thanks. Sorry to hear that I couldn't run 11R with the Fast Track C600. Would
Pro Tools MP9 work with Eleven Rack? |
Re: 11R and Fast Track C600
MPowered will not work with the Eleven Rack.
However, regular PT9 will work, and you can use your Eleven Rack serial number to get PT9 at the crossgrade price of $249. |

A higher cost outlay but feasible ... no? |

If you don't mind not having an Eleven Rack config window in Pro Tools then you can work with Pro Tools SE and just feed the S/PDIF out from the Eleven Rack to the C006. In this case the Eleven Rack is operating just as a stand-alone piece of outboard gear. But SE is so limited it sucks badly. "wanting more inputs" and using SE are conflicting concepts :-) Or you should be able to crossgrade/upgrade to Pro Tools 9 from the Pro Tools LE 8 that came with the Eleven Rack -- then you will get the Eleven Rack control window working and you can separately install the C006 Driver Control Panel. If starting to spend more money looking at a higher-end Mbox or a third party interface might be a better idea. Darryl |
Re: 11R and Fast Track C600
correct me if I am mistaken. But PT9 MP requires an M Audio interface right?
So wouldn't it be better to just upgrade to PT9 with your PTLE serial from the 11R, and have the choice of any Core Audio interface? You can even still go with the C600 if you want. I mean you can get a Fast Track C600 bundled with PT9 MP, (it usually comes with PTSE) and it will save you roughly $160, but not being tied to an interface is well worth that price. I just don't see any reason to go M-Powered other than to cut costs. And though you save a bit of money, I think as a whole you would benefit much more with just going with PT9. Also, the OP does not state how many simultaneous inputs he needs, so it's hard to say whether or not running the 11R via SPDIF into the C600 will alleviate the situation. |
Re: 11R and Fast Track C600
Think you have gotten some bad info. It appears that the Eleven rack & Pro Tools MP9 are compatible and do indeed work in tandem...

I also do not know what you mean exactly by "work in tandem". You mean that software using that interface, then again, no. |
