THIS MAY BE A STUPID QUESTION

Hi all
I am running pro tools 6.8.1 on an mbox factory. My question is what plugin do you use for echo? all i need is a simple echo for vocals. If it is part of the delay plugin can you please tell me what settings you have found to do this...thanks

The term "echo" can be used to describe several different effects; reverb, short delay, long delay.

We need to know which of these effects you are trying to replicate. Since you don't know how to do it and what to use, it would probably be best if you could give us a point of reference. Like so-and-so in such-and-such song.

Reverb is an effect that emulates the sound of a room; short rooms, large halls etc.

Delay is basically a replay of the sound at a point later in time. Short delays can be made to sound like reverb. Longer delays are usually used for repeating phrases.

You might also want to get a book on recording...

You want to use a Delay with a quarter note delay - and a feedback of about 15%.

Search the DUC on how to use Sends & Returns.

Automate the send mute.
