Upgrade from Non-HD Monthly to HD Monthly
Hey Guys, cant find the information anywhere....
I rent the PT12 software, and now i saw that i can rent the PT12 HD software! Great!! - But how can i upgrade my current subscription to HD ? Do i have to let my current subscription expire (august 2017) and pay for a HD license on top? Surely thats a bit unfair, and there should be an upgrade option? Would appreciate some help, as i am sure a lot of people will be in the same boat as me... Thanks!!! |

Re: Upgrade from Non-HD Monthly to HD Monthly
Call Avid and ask, but the response most likely is that HD subscription is only annual, not monthly. However, if they are fair, they would change your monthly non-HD sub to yearly HD sub. Downside is obviously you need to pay for the full year at once.

Re: Upgrade from Non-HD Monthly to HD Monthly
There must be 1000's of people renting pro tools 12, and would like tp pay an extra 60 dollars a month to get HD - surely it makes good business sense to make that an easy thing to do??

Hello mykhal c, can you share the link to that HD subscription with monthly billing option? Avid rep says monthly billing option is not offered for HD subscription.

Re: Upgrade from Non-HD Monthly to HD Monthly
I have the same issue. I tried to change my PT12 on the annual, pay monthly to the PT12 HD pay monthly option. First it was out of stock...? Then it became available again, but on back order? So I don't get it. I have athe iLok, and I have the internet to download the software. How does a subscription become out of stock?
Also the order does not give the option to pay monthly. Just the full amount. When I contacted support, I got a very rude email back from them, stating that the HD subscription was annual only and not monthly. When I sent them screen shots of their own web page with the big ad, I got no response... |

Found your case and see that the agent replied the same day apologizing if their response offended you, and your next reply acknowledged that. They replied a couple more times (last reply on the case is from Avid CS), so I'm not sure why you didn't see those. You can review the case in the Access The Support Center section of your my.avid.com account. As far as the 'out of stock' status, this is a boxed copy since it includes an iLok. So there could be valid reasons for the stock issue. http://www.avid.com/pro-tools-hd/how-to-buy does show $83.25/month which is simply the yearly cost broken down, but I'll pass on a request to clarify that it's billed annually. Sorry for the confusion this caused. |
Re: Upgrade from Non-HD Monthly to HD Monthly
Heh, I thought the same thing...the monthly HD subscription ad looks real, real close to the non HD monthly ad which is indeed monthly and not annually.
