Hello,

Could someone help me with the following error I get when trying to open a recent session:

Could not complete the Open Session... command because Assertion in "..\ PtSess\ PtSess_RunTime.cpp", line 16689.

(Use the Copy button to copy this message to the clipboard.) while translating Region Group List


The same error occurs when I'm trying to open a session backup file, however it doesn't occur when opening other sessions.

I'm running Pro Tools 11.3.1 on Windows 7.

I hope anyone out here can help me out with this!

I don't know about the error, but assuming it's a corrupted session file, I would start by creating a new session and import the tracks. Maybe a few at a time, and checking that they work, in case there is just one track or plugin causing the error.

And if that doesn't help, try these:
1-try opening an auto-backup session
2-Hold SHIFT while you open the session(which will make all plugins inactive). If this allows the session to open, then you probably have a bad plugin(did the session always get used on your setup, or did it come from another studio setup?)
3-trashing prefs might be worth a shot:o
4-last-ditch idea; create a blank session at a different sample rate(IOW, if the corrupted session is at 44.1K, make the new session 48K) and try importing session data and let Pro Tools apply SRC(sample rate conversion).
